Where to pig out during Dine Out Vancouver Festival?

Jan 17 – Feb. 2 is the popular Tourism Vancouver’s Dine Out Vancouver Festival, the city’s largest restaurant festival. This year is the biggest ever with 263 restaurants participating. Restaurants offer $18, $28, and $38 prixe fixe menus with optional BC wine pairings.

There are lots of places to pig out during Dine Out Vancouver Festival, but here are places actually putting pig on the plate. From a strip of bacon, to pancetta, pulled pork and tenderloin, I’ve collected all dishes using any part of the pig. Yes, I had to read all 263 menus to find every pork dish being featured during the 17 day festival. Why? For this.

I’m not sure which restaurants are using local BC pork, but if supporting local is important, than I recommend calling ahead to confirm before making a reservation.

A big shout out to THE OAKWOOD CANADIAN BISTRO for featuring the most pork dishes during Dine Out. With 7 pork dishes, all their appetizers and mains feature some part of the pig. I’m actually surprised the desserts didn’t feature a bacon sprinkle. The restaurant is also known for local and sustainable ingredients and I’ve had great experiences there so it’s easy to recommend.
