Takeout window pays tribute to bacon
It’s all bacon, all the time at Edible Canada‘s takeout window on Granville Island. The bistro proudly promotes local ingredients; now it’s featuring bacon dishes with Canadian regional influences.
The busy takeout window opened during the Victoria Day long weekend (how Canadian!), with people flocking there for the Box O’Bacon: strips of pepper candied bacon with rye chocolate ganache dipping sauce.
I’m intrigued by the crispy fish and bacon taco, which includes Ontario pickerel, as well as the bacon chocolate gelato.
The chef tells CTV he came up with the all-bacon menu because of his “personal love of bacon.” Now that’s my kind of chef.
New items will be added through the summer. The window is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily
