This weekend I spent an afternoon at Taste of Edmonton in search of all things pork and this year’s menu line-up did not disappoint. From bacon bullets to pork belly lettuce wraps, pig was a popular ingredient for many of this year’s vendors. If you like pork as much as I do, you still have six days to head down to Taste of Edmonton to enjoy these swine-filled dishes. So head on down to Churchill Square and taste-test some treats from some of Edmonton’s locally owned and operated restaurants.
The Downtown Business Association’s annual Downtown Dining week, Friday March 14 to Sunday March 23, 2014, allows YEG food lovers to enjoy a lunch or dinner for $15, $25 or $50 at some ofEdmonton’s best eateries.
Each restaurant designs a custom, specialty-priced menu exclusively for Dining Week. Each price level comes with a selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. I’ve had a look through all of the menus, and I’d like to point out these pork-loving restaurants.

Every year I wait in anticipation for Live Local’s annual Winter Fork Fest – a promotion that encourages local foodies to venture out of their homes into a world of great dining. With a number of locally owned and operated restaurants offering multi-course menus at $25 and $45 per person from January 19 – 23 and 26 – 30, 2014, it will be a personal challenge of mine to visit as many participating restaurants in two weeks that I can.
