All throughout the month of June, chefs in Calgary and Edmonton are featuring a new or signature Alberta Pork dish on their menu. And they’ll be giving out a recipe card of their feature dish for patrons to take home.

June is Pork Month is back at for a second year in Edmonton!
Chefs at the Alberta Hotel Bar & Kitchen, Ampersand 27, The Common, The Harvest Room at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, Hardware Grill, The Marc, Nineteen, Pampa Brazilian Steakhouse, Red Ox Inn, Rostizado, The Royal Glenora Club, Sabor, Sunterra, TZiN, and The Workshop Eatery all have a passion for Alberta pork – each are featuring a new or signature Alberta Pork dish on their menu all month long.
Not only can you enjoy copious amounts of pork at each of these restaurants – each chef has shared their recipe and will be giving out a recipe card for diners to take home.

* Chocolate petite gateau – a warm chocolate cake, filled with bacon-infused caramel sauce and topped with vanilla-bean ice cream and caramelized bacon bits.
I had the pleasure of over-indulging at Bacon Feast on Friday at Pampa Brazilian Steakhouse in Edmonton. And sure, the traditional Rodizio dining experience at Pampa Brazilian Steakhouse is more than enough meat. The continuous table-side service includes ten types of cut from pork (sausage, Parmesan, crusted pork loin, bacon wrapped chicken thighs), beef, poultry and lamb; however, I think the Bacon Feast upgrade is worth it.
Of all the dishes I tried – the marinated crispy pork belly served with a wedge of lime was my favourite. I’m not ashamed – I asked for a second serving. Plus, Bacon Feast includes dessert, and ordering off the dessert menu will cost between $9 – $12, so I feel like the $14.95 upgrade is worth it.
And for those who like to drink their bacon, Pampa is also offering a Bacon-infused vodka Caesar for $10.00. If you want to take advantage of Bacon Feast at Pampa, whole table participation required, so be sure to dine with fellow bacon lovers.

In addition to their participation as a food vendor at Porkapalooza at Borden Park June 20th and 21st, and BaconfestYEG on June 30th at the Jubilee Auditorium, Pampa in Edmonton is offering a Baconfest Feature throughout June to all their nightly restaurant diners.
If you haven’t been to Pampa in Edmonton before, first up, you need to go hungry. The $50 fixed-priced menu features continuous table-side service of 10 select cuts of Canadian beef, pork, poultry and includes a salad salad bar with in-house baked breads.
This month, evening diners can upgrade to the Baconfest Feature for $65 which includes the regular menu, plus unlimited access to a bacon-wrapped petite tender, marinated BBQ pork belly, and bacon wrapped chicken thighs.
I checked out the new Baconfest Feature on Saturday evening and learned that since starting the promo on June 2nd, approximately 30% of June’s evening diners have opted for the pork-packed promotion.
The pork belly is cooked in foil – low and slow – for three hours.
After slow roasting, the foil is removed and the belly is moved closer to the charcoal to get crispy.
The pork belly, with its perfectly crunchy skin, is served table side as part of the Baconfest Feature.
While the dessert is not included in their regular fixed price menu – the Baconfest Feature does! It includes a petite chocolate cake with bacon caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream and topped with caramelized bacon. that makes the $15 bacon upgrade a bacon bargain.
The pork loin is cook slowly and the parmesan is generously applied before the final hit of heat.
