Southern-style Alberta Pork at Creole Envie

Pain Perdu a New Orleans inspired French toast served with Spicy Cajun andouille sausage

Bringing the flavour of her hometown of New Orleans to Edmonton, owner and Chef Danielle Majeau serves up a Cajun and Creole menu that is all about Alberta Pork at Creole Envie.

Using pork sourced from a combination of D’Arcy’s Meats in St. Albert as well as Nicola and Alan Irving of Irving Farms, Chef Majeau is introducing Edmontonians to southern specialties like house-made andouille sausage and pulled pork.

I made a visit recently to Creole Envie for their Saturday brunch with my friends Meryl and Miguel. Unsure what to order Chef Majeau asked if we trusted her. Since we are all adventurous diners, we nodded yes, and she took our menus away.

These are the pork-filled dishes that made the way to our table.

French Quarter Omelet - Spicy Cajun andouille and ham in our creole sauce with melted cheddar cheese
Breakfast Poutine - Pulled pork, home style gravy and smoked Gouda over sweet potato hash

East local and check out Creole Envie for a bite of Southern-flavoured pork for lunch, dinner or Saturday brunch.
