Hoisin Garlic Ribs

Hoisin Garlic Ribs

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs (2kg) pork side ribs or sweet & sour ribs
  • 1/2 cup (50ml) each Hoisin sauce and water
  • 3 Tbsp (50 ml) dry sherry
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) each honey and soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) toasted sesame seeds

Preparation

Using a knife and paper towel, gently lift and peel the silver membrane away from the backside of each strip of pork ribs and discard. Cut ribs into single rib or bite size pieces; place in a large plastic bag or sealable container.

Combine remaining ingredients except sesame seeds, mix well and pour over ribs. Close bag or container and marinate in the refrigerator for a min. 6 hours or up to 24 hours. Drain ribs, reserving marinade, Place ribs in a shallow roasting pan, cover with foil and bake in a 325F oven for 1 1/2 hours.

Meanwhile, bring marinade to a boil for 1 minutes. Uncover and brush ribs with the reserved marinade, bake uncovered for an additional 30-45 minutes or until dark golden. Sprinkle ribs with sesame seeds and serve hot.
