Bacon Hazelnut Caramel Sauce

  • 2 cups (500 mL) whipping cream
  • 1 cup (250 mL) diced bacon, rendered out and drained
  • ½ cup (125 mL/227 g) butter
  • ½ cup (125 mL) sugar
  • ½ cup (125 mL) hazelnuts, roasted, peeled and chopped



Place all ingredients into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the mixture becomes syrupy. Remove from heat. The sauce will thicken as it cools. Serve warm or cold.
