Recipe: Spicy Bacon and Apple Jam
I don’t know about you, but for myself, it’s near impossible to get tired of bacon. While I do encourage an ‘everything in moderation’ policy when it comes to what a person eats, it’s hard to pass up a crispy slice of bacon when it’s put in front of you.
This recipe for bacon ‘jam’ is really simple. You can spread it on bread to up the ante on your typical sandwiches (not unlike this pancetta aioli we shared a few weeks ago), add it onto a charcuterie platter or even toss it into a basic white pasts sauce to boost the flavour.
What you’ll need…
food processor or blender. Puree apple/bacon mixture to desired consistency (smoother = much more spreadable).
Place into a container and store in the refrigerator to use as
desired craved. Will keep for up to 10 days.
Yields 2 1/4 cups bacon jam
