Members of the culinary team from Cibo and Bonterra Trattoria accept the Divine Swine award at this year’s Pig & Pinot Festival, held in June. Creative Restaurants, which owns the two Italian eateries, have gone on to donate the prize to Calgary Meals on Wheels.
Glen Mazur and his team from Creative Restaurants, which operates some popular eateries in Calgary, including Cibo and Bonterra Trattoria, have donated their $500 first place winnings from the Pig & Pinot Festival to Calgary Meals on Wheels. Alberta Pork, a sponsor of the Pig & Pinot, provided the Divine Swine Award, which included a $500 cash prize to be donated to the charity of choice of the first place winner.

Calgary Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization that delivers nutritious, low cost meals to the homes of seniors, people who are convalescing and people with mental or physical disabilities. About 1,700 meals are delivered every day, which amounts to over 500,000 meals a year.

The 3rd annual Pig & Pinot was held at Hotel Arts on Thursday, June 20, 2013.
