City Palate’s 3rd Annual Pig & Pinot

Admin - Friday, June 28, 2013
Despite the threat of rising flood waters in Calgary, City Palate‘s Pig & Pinot, held at Hotel Arts last Thursday, June 20, was a smashing success again this year. Many in the Calgary food scene view the Pig & Pinot as one of the best – if not the best – food event of the year in the city.
Many of the city’s top restaurants and chefs were there serving up their creative pork offerings to the delight of those in attendance: Alloy, Avec Bistro, Blink, Bonterra/Cibo, The Cookbook Co. Cooks, Hotel Arts/Yellow Door Bistro, Winebar Kensington/Brasserie Kensington, Meez Cuisine, Model Milk, Nicole Gourmet Catering, FARM Restaurant, and Taste all competed for the Divine Swine Award awarded to the top chef. There was also a silent Auction at the event with the proceeds going in support of Calgary Meals on Wheels. Passion for Pork was proud to offer a prize of a home-cooked gourmet meal by our very own blogger Dan Clapson!
Chef Glen Manzer of Cibo walked away with the new gold Divine Swine Prize as well as a $500 contribution to a charity of his choice, all provided by Alberta Pork. It was another great effort by City Palate magazine and the participating restaurants and wine shops in making the Pig & Pinot such a great event. Congratulations all around!
