City Palate Celebrates Third Annual Pig & Pinot Festival

tCALGARY, Alberta (May 20, 2013) – City Palate celebrates all the little piggies with the 3rd Annual Pig & Pinot Festival on Thursday, June 20th 2013 from 7 to 10 pm at Hotel Arts, 119-12 Avenue SW.

tTwelve chef teams will compete for the honour of winning the “Divine Swine” trophy, sponsored by Alberta Pork, using Irvings Farm Fresh Berkshire pork from Round Hill, Alberta. The city’s most talented sommeliers will help guests sip, swish, and savour a global selection of both red and white pinot – all in support of Calgary Meals on Wheels. Alberta Pork is excited about sponsoring the Third Annual Pig & Pinot Festival, one of the premier events in Alberta that celebrates pork.

tOnce again, City Palate has attracted some of the best chefs and restaurants in Alberta to prepare great tasting pork dishes. Featured chefs include Rogelio Herrera (Alloy), Darnell Japp (Avec Bistro), Chris Dewling (Blink), Glen Manzer (Cibo), Matthew Altizer (The Cookbook Co. Cooks), Pete Goldberg (FARM), Duncan Ly (Hotel Arts), Judy Wood (MEEZ Cuisine), Justin Leboe (Model Milk), Nicole Gomes (Nicole Gourmet Catering), Shawn Greenwood (Taste), and Cam Dobranski (Winebar Kensington).

tWines will be poured by Metrovino, Bin 905, J. Webb Wine Merchants, Kensington Wine Market, Richmond Hill Wines, Vine Arts and Wine Ink.

tThe event will also include a summer solstice themed silent auction, a raffle to win over $2000 worth of fine wines, photos by Silly Booth, and music by Simply Sinatra, featuring Rob Young.
